Sasha McCoy, 27, was arrested late last week and charged in DC Superior Court, where she pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree cruelty to children for allegedly allowing her child to ingest a lethal dose of fentanyl.

It is alleged that in October 2022, the toddler got into the fentanyl, and during her court appearance on Friday, a judge found probable cause that McCoy committed the murder and held her without bond pending her preliminary hearing on Friday, March 8, prosecutors say.
